Danielle Barbereau

I am a personal coach, author, and speaker.

I specialise in helping clients going through painful breakups or trying to decide if they wish to stay together. I work hand in hand with family/matrimonial solicitors. My work is all about supporting clients coping with loss and preparing for rediscovery.

I support clients during the immediate aftermath of the breakup or when they are going through court proceedings. I do so by helping them make sense of what has happened, regain a sense of control so they can deal with damaging emotions and prepare to move forward in a positive way.

I absolutely love doing what I do. I fully appreciate the privileged position my job brings, which is entirely about creating a unique, close and supportive relationship with clients so I can help them through very painful times.

I am French but have worked and lived in the UK for a very long time. I am divorced so I remember how it feels to go through painful breakups and rejection! I am proud of having raised two well-adjusted daughters and worked as a senior manager in higher education while being a single mum. My book “After the Split- the Definitive Guide to Recovery When Relationships Break Down” was described by Alison Kitchman, Head of Family Law at Taylor Bracewell, as “a must-have book if you are separating. It will anchor and prepare you for new beginnings”. I have also contributed articles for publications in High 50s and The Divorce Magazine.

I trained with Barefoot Coaching (Kim Morgan) Masters in Coaching accredited by the University of Chester and endorsed by the National Council of Psychotherapists. I am a member of the Association for Coaching and have well over 2,000 hours coaching experience.

“I have never had a Fairy Godmother before.”

“Danielle came into my life when I was trying to recover from a very painful separation from my husband of 32 years, who had embarked on an affair. With her humour, lovely warm personality and wisdom, she helped me forge ahead to a brighter future”.

"I have read Danielle's book a couple of times, it feels like I've sat down and dictated to her how my life has been this last year. I've found it upsetting, cathartic and helpful at the same time. She has a lovely tone and is very knowledgeable”. Reader of my book (After The Split).
